Happy Canada Day- Polymer Clay in Canada

July First is Canada's birthday- it's Canada Day and we're 141 years young! Most Canadians will find a way to add red and white to their outfits for the day - many will have maple leafs on their faces or other body bits- ..... we''ll take the day off, show the flag, have fun and most likely catch some fireworks at the end of the day. We Canadians are very, very proud of our country and especially of our troops serving in Afghanistan.

We Canadians have a wonderful community of polymer clayers with many vibrant guilds and fantastically talented artists.

"Clayamies" is our national online guild... http://www.clayamies.com/ you are welcome to visit and see what we Can-do! If you're a Canuck- join us!

Here's my daughter Genevieve ready to celebrate the day- the tatoo on her arms says- Canada Rocks!

Polymer Clay & Summer Serendipity

This little Muse Frieze came out of nowhere! The frieze was going to be featuring fish... the background and frame was all set and I put the piece to one side. I had a little wall muse that I was noodling with and when I was finished I put it on top of the fish frieze to save space and something clicked! The piece is called "Summer Serendipity"- it's approx 8x15"

Lavender Tiles...

The polymer clay tile projects continue.... sadly the rare earth magnet system didn't work- although the magnets are technically able to hold 3lbs, the 4 oz. the tiles slid vertically off the wall so I settled for a low tech hole in the back ofeach tile for a flush wall mount effect.

The lavender is blooming in my garden and inspired these lavender themed tiles....

Polymer Clay Picture Tiles

Here's something new that I'm doing.... small 3x3" tiles that can be displayed alone or juxtaposed in groups on a wall. Each is one of a kind and will be sold separately. Some will have Moxies on them. They're an addictive! I have a show coming up in August- I'm hoping to be able to cover one 4x6' panel!

Wish me luck!
