Mad with Colour!

I accepted YOUR advice and assisted by a big box of new inks went mad with colour with this as yet unnamed Muse. Long skinny wall hanging pieces are so hard to photograph properly but I think the idea is more or less conveyed. She is awash with teal, green and a swish or two of purple.

This piece is is heading to the Canadian National Institute of the Blind Eye Appeal Fundraiser.

  1. Hee! was my initial reaction about first glance. Your Muses are always so delightful (and symbolic) Gera.

When I saw the process I thought she was going to be 'two' creatures. The Muse has the universal symbol of the Spiral, in both hand, dress and crown. I'm drawn to the spiral as it is represented in so much cave art around the globe in many different cultures, it's also found in the Hopi tribe where it represents the number of journeys (or treks) a tribe or nation has made to the four corners of the earth. Engraved on stones, the spiral suggests an intricate journey made to the Other-worlds and back.
Generally tho, the spiral represents a broadening of consciousness, which is the destination arrived after a long journey.

Thank you for sharing this Muse's journey completed and what an amazing piece for this fundraiser.
I hope this Muse really helps broaden the consciousness (and pockets) of those attending this Auction.
